2.5.1.1 Viewing Glossaries Summary Page

The Glossaries page displays all available glossaries in the Data Catalog and provides options to view, extend, and download glossary-related templates, based on user roles and permissions.

  1. Click on Glossaries under Data Catalog section.

    The catalog summary page has the below components:

    Column Description
    Catalog Status Catalog Status indicates the current status of the catalog:
    • Draft – The catalog is still being modified by the user.
    • Validated – The catalog has been reviewed and validated but is not yet published.
    • Published – The catalog is finalized and available for use.
    Catalog Title Catalog Title includes the following details:
    • Catalog Name – that includes seeded and custom glossaries. e.g., PBSM Catalog
    • Published Version Number- Refers to the unique identifier assigned to a specific version of a configuration, rule, or dataset that has been finalized and made available for use in production or downstream processes.
    • Catalog Description – A brief description (up to 250 characters)
    Catalog Type Catalog Type includes:
    • Type of Catalog – e.g., Foundation, Application, BIRD, Seeded
    • Source/Results – Indicates whether the catalog is a source or results catalog
    Created by Created By includes details of the user who created or last modified the catalog.
    Purpose Ingress / Egress- for data movement into and out of systems.
    Source
    • Seeded Glossaries: That are provided out of the box by the system are displayed with the Seeded source and are typically created by the System user.
    • Custom Glossaries: That are created and managed by users are displayed with a Custom source. These glossaries are user-defined and are maintained according to assigned roles and permissions.
    Source Version Displays the version of the glossary.

    Note:

    Seeded glossaries display a six-digit version number (for example, 26.01.01), whereas custom glossaries display a version number in the format such as 1.0.
    Line of Business All – applicable across all business areas.
    Count Count displays the number of Business Terms followed by the number of Entities.
    The Menu Button (also known as the meatball or burger button).

    Note:

    At least two versions of the catalog must be in the Published state to access the Audit History option under the menu.
  2. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) on the catalog tile or detailed view.

You can search for glossaries using the Search field. The search supports the following attributes:

  • Catalog name
  • Status
  • Description
  • Source
  • Created by
  • Purpose

Use the filters to refine the glossary list:

  • Status
  • Source
  • Created By
  • Number of Business Terms
Click Refresh to reload the list and display the latest changes.
