6.6 Continuing Activity Investigations

If you have closed a case with a recommendation to file a US SAR regulatory report, a supplemental review is required to determine whether a continuing SAR is necessary. When you close and filing a SAR on an AML case, a new Continuing Activity (AML_CA) case is created.

The Continuing Activity case allows investigators to review activities which occurred after filing the SAR on the previous case. This case must be investigated and concluded within your firm's review

period, typically between 90-120 days. After this period, a continuing SAR must be filed, if necessary. 90 days after a SAR, FinCEN requires an investigation into the involved parties of the SAR.

If your firm has implemented Oracle FCCM Compliance Regulatory Reporting, when investigating the Continuing Activity case (AML_CA) you can view selected information from the SAR associated to the original case.
