4.2.1 Using Views

The following are the salient features of Views search.

  • Views represent pre-populated search queries.
  • Views allow a single-click option for returning a filtered case list based upon the view's preset search criteria.
  • Search fields are displayed based on the type of Views you select.
  • You can create and manage personal saved views.

To search for cases using the Views search, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Case Search and List page.
  2. Select a view type from the Views drop-down list.

The relevant cases are displayed in the Case List pane.

My New Cases Displays cases in New Status for which the owner is the logged-in user or the poolto which user belongs.
Cases Assigned to Me Displays cases for which the assignee is the logged-in user or the pool to which user belongs in any status except Closed.
My Open Cases Displays cases for which the owner is the logged-in user or the pool to which user belongs, in any status except Closed.
My Overdue Cases Displays cases for which the owner is the logged-in user or the pool to which user belongs and the due date is equal to or less than current date.

Note:

Views also display your personal saved views. These search views are created using the Save View option. For more information, see Creating a Search View.

Creating a Search View

The Save View option allows you to create and manage personal search criteria for your future uses. You can also make Search View as a default search criterion. The newly created search views are listed in the Views Search drop-down list and User Preference page. These search views are available only to the user who creates it.

To create search views, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Case Search and List page.
  2. Enter your search criteria in the Advanced Search fields and click Save As View.

    Note:

    Date filters or ID filters are not permitted for saving a View.
  3. Enter a View Name for the personal search view.
  4. Optional: Select Set as Default Search to make this Search View as default search criteria for all your future uses.
  5. A confirmation message displays and a newly created save view displays in the Views drop- down list. This save view is also displayed in the User Preference page. For more information, see Setting User Preferences.
