Using Quarter Hour Aggregation

Simphony provides consolidated sales and operational data that is aggregated by quarter hour and by day. Those are different API endpoints within the Business Intelligence API. The quarter hour aggregations follow mostly the same design as the daily aggregations. Data is grouped into quarter hours which are identified by the qrtHrNum attribute. In addition, the array also includes busHrNum and dpName which identify the business hour and day part name as configured within Reporting and Analytics.

Quarter Hour Number (qrtHrNum)

The quarter hour number identifies the quarter hour in which the sale happened. The number maps to a specific quarter hour time range as defined in the below table. Quarter hours always start at midnight, local store time, with 1. There are a maximum of 96 quarter hours per 24-hour period.

Business Hour (busHrNum)

The business hour defines the hours of the business date, starting at midnight of the business date.

If the start of day happened to occur at midnight, the first business hour value is 0, then 1:00 a.m. is 1, and so on. If the business date goes past 24 hours, after midnight, then the business hour value is 25 for the time range midnight to 1:00 a.m., then 26 for 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

If the business date's start of day is at 5:00 a.m., then the first business hour value is 5.

The maximum value for business hour is 240 if the business date doesn’t change for multiple days.

Day Part Name (dpName)

The day part name is returned according to the configuration of day parts within Reporting and Analytics. Day parts are configured for the whole enterprise and also map to the quarter hour start and end times. See Day Parts in the Reporting and Analytics User Guide for details on day parts and their configuration.
