Add Recipe Groups

Recipe Groups are used to organize recipes into categories (for example, appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, side orders, and cocktails).

When creating the Recipe Type of Production Recipe, assigning a Recipe Group is required because these recipes require linked COGS and Asset accounts.

1. On the Dashboard page, select Recipe, and then click Recipe List.
2. Click the New Recipe button.
3. Click the Add button adjacent to the Recipe Group drop-down list.
4. In the Add Recipe Group dialog, enter the following information:
   • Group Name: Enter a unique name for the Recipe Group.
   • Default COGS Account: Select the Cost of Goods Sold Account from the drop-down list.
   • Default Asset Account: Select the Asset Account from the drop-down list.
5. Click the Add button to save the Recipe Group record. The new Recipe Group is automatically selected for the recipe.
