Load-Balanced, Self-Hosted Servers

Due to regulatory requirements, physical location, or customer preference, these types of implementations are likely to have a server farm located remotely and serving multiple properties.

Just like with self-hosted on-premises environments, when the customer hosts their own server farm in a non-Oracle data center, they are responsible for all aspects of the installation. This includes, but is not limited to, operating system patching, application patching, load balancer configuration, SSL certificates, server firewalls, server uptime, and database maintenance.

When the customer’s server farm is hosted in a non-Oracle data center and exposed to the Internet, it is essential to implement IDS/IPS solutions and configure firewalls accurately to ensure that public access is secure and not abused.
