Multiple Check and Posting Service (CAPS) Machines

When a physical deployment reaches a certain size, customers may choose to divide their installation into multiple logical properties within the EMC. This approach can help with IT configuration, reporting, or infrastructure sizing. For this setup, each Simphony property requires a separate CAPS machine.

Multiple CAPS machines affect the flow of data both from property-level components to the cloud and locally between nodes. Assuming proper configuration, workstations in Property 1 should not communicate with workstations in Property 2.

The workstation listing within the EMC should be configured to ensure that IP addresses are not duplicated across properties. This process requires manual oversight. Where possible, using separate VLAN segments offers an additional layer of protection against IP conflicts.
