1 Handling CAL Packages After the Enterprise is Upgraded
This guide provides a high-level overview of the tasks that must be completed at each property and revenue center after upgrading your Simphony enterprise application server to the latest software version.
Throughout this guide, the term location refers to the properties and revenue centers for which you are responsible. Complete each of the post-upgrade tasks described in this guide to ensure that your Simphony workstations, CAPS and CAPS on Internet Information Services (IIS) clients, and Kitchen Display System (KDS) devices are running the latest software version.
Note:
After the upgrade to your Simphony enterprise application server is complete, and before your location's scheduled upgrade, you can schedule all CAL packages for download to workstations and other devices using the Effective From and Effective To settings in the CAL Packages module of the Simphony EMC.Follow the steps outlined in Chapter 1 of this document for individual locations. If you manage multiple locations within an enterprise, you can update CAL package versions as described in Changing a CAL Package Version in the Client Deployment Guide.
