4 Installing and Configuring the Verifone P630 Using RNDIS Over USB to an Oracle Workstation 625/655 Running Microsoft Windows 10/11
To install and configure the Verifone P630 using RNDIS over USB to an Oracle Workstation running Microsoft Windows 10 or 11, download a patch from My Oracle Support and follow the patch installation steps.
Installation Steps

Ensure the P630 is connected to the workstation via the USB cable with power injection (P/N 7624455) and the workstation is connected to the internet via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.

There is a white cover that secures the cable to the P630. It may be in the bottom section of the box. Slide the white cover on and tighten the captive screw.

Connect the power adapter cable to the USB cable.

Plug the power adapter into an AC outlet.
- From the Welcome screen, select Language, and then tap the blue arrow.

The Wi-Fi screen appears.
Ethernet Setup

To bypass Wi-Fi, tap the gear, tap Network, tap Wi-Fi, tap Disable Wi-Fi, and then tap the back arrow.

Tap Ethernet.

Enable Ethernet by tapping/sliding the button to the right.

Tap Static/disable DHCP.

To enter Static IP Address information, touch the box next to IP Address and a touchscreen keypad will appear. Use the touch keypad instead of the device hard keypad.

Enter the information as shown below:

IP Address: 192.168.137.2

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Router: 192.168.137.1

DNS – Preferred: The correct DNS for your network.

DNS – Alternate: The correct Alternate DNS for your network. If no alternate DNS you can use 8.8.8.8, which is owned and run by Google.

- Tap the arrow/check mark in bottom right, and then tap Save to get back to Network menu.

Tap the back arrow <, and then tap USB-Gadget.

Enable Ethernet-RNDIS by tapping the button/slide it to right. This will automatically disable the Ethernet option previously enabled.

Exit settings.
- Tap Wi-Fi and enable the Wi-Fi toggle switch.
- Select your Wi-Fi network.
- Tap the back arrow <, and then tap USB-Gadget.
- Enable Ethernet-RNDIS by tapping/sliding the button to the right. This will automatically disable the Ethernet option previously enabled, but those settings will still apply.
- Exit settings.
- Verify the workstation has internet access.
- Stop all running applications, including Simphony.
- Connect the P400/P630 to a USB port on the workstation and wait two minutes for the P400/P630 to get to a steady state.
- Download the zip file from MOS, unzip it and copy the contents to a USB Flash drive.
- Copy the files to the workstation desktop. Do not run the .exe from a USB device.
- On the workstation double-click the patch.exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- When prompted, click Finish.
- The workstation will reboot and return to the OS screen.
- To verify the patch has been installed, open Diagnostic Utility from
C:\Bin\xxx_Diagnostic_Utility or C:\Oracle Utilities\ xxx_Diagnostic_Utility and
Double click xxx_Diagnostic_Utility.exe, (Head Software) verify the new version
xxxx.YYMMDD is installed by looking under patch details.
Note:
Patch Detail option is not available on all images, particularly in images dated prior to August 2021 and for any image on Workstation Models 610, 620, and 650. - To test the P400/P630 press 9, press the Green O button, tap the gear, tap Diagnostics, and then tap PSP Connection. A Successful result means it can reach the internet.
- If a store was assigned to the terminal, setup will continue.
