Modifying an existing Central Coding application server installation of the same version

Use this procedure to change the features of the same version of the software that you installed on an application server. You can change the Central Coding Server, the Dictionary Loader, or both features:

  1. Locate setup.exe.
  2. Right-click and select Run as administrator.

The Existing Installed Instances Detected page appears.

  3. Select Maintain or update the instance of this application selected below.
  4. Select the appropriate server, and click Next.

    The Welcome page appears.

  5. Select Modify, and click Next.

    The Select Features page appears.

  6. To modify an application server installation, select the features to change:
    • Central Coding Server.
    • Dictionary Loader.

The Dictionary Loader tool must be installed in order to load standard and custom dictionaries. However, the Dictionary Loader tool:

      • Does not need to be installed on every machine or on every application server.
      • Can be on a different machine from the Central Coding application server(s).
      • Can be installed without also installing the Central Coding Server.

To verify whether the Dictionary Loader tool is installed, go to Start > Apps. If Dictionary Loader appears under Oracle HS, it is already installed.

  7. Select the features to install, deselect the features to uninstall, and click Next.

The files are updated and the Maintenance Complete page appears.

  8. Click Finish.
