Changing the punctuation filter for a dictionary type

Use this procedure to change the characters in the punctuation filter for a dictionary type. The punctuation filter identifies characters that you want the coding algorithm to consider as punctuation in the step that removes punctuation.

  1. Select Start > Apps > Dictionary Loader.

    The Dictionary Loader dialog box appears.

  2. Select a connection and connect to the database.

    For more information, see Connecting to the database.

  3. Select the Types node for the active connection from the Data Connections tree in the left pane.

    Information about the Dictionary Types for this connection appears in the top pane.

  4. Select a dictionary type.

    An arrow appears in the column to the left of the Type column.

  5. Select Dictionary > Change Punctuation Filter.

    The Punctuation Filter dialog box appears.

  6. Add or remove characters as necessary.
  7. Click OK.
