Add a multisource signal configuration

Create a new multisource signal configuration from the Manage Signal Configurations page. You must have Manage Signal Configurations user permission to perform the following actions.
  1. In the left navigation pane, click the Settings icon (Settings icon).
  2. In the Configure System section, click Manage Signal Configurations.
  3. At the top of the page, click the Add Multisource Signal Configuration.
  4. On the Add Signal Configuration page, enter a name and optional description.
  5. From the Lead Configuration drop-down menu, select the signal configuration you wish to use as the lead configuration.

    Note:

The lead configuration must be an interactive signal configuration that has been refreshed after upgrading to 9.2.2.
  6. From the Secondary Configuration drop-down list, select the signal configuration you wish to use as the secondary configuration. You can select an interactive or scripted signal configuration that has been refreshed as the secondary configuration.
  7. In the Label field, enter a label for the secondary configuration.

    Note:

A unique label is required for each secondary configuration. The label you enter will appear as a prefix in table columns and menu options to identify data specific to the secondary configuration.
  8. If you are adding an additional secondary configuration, repeat steps 6 and 7, using the additional row provided.

    Note:

The secondary configurations must be unique.
  9. Click Save.
Once the multisource signal configuration is saved, the Refresh Signal Management page appears.

    Note:

The new multisource signal configuration contains a copy of the alert types from the lead configuration. Therefore, once the initial refresh, without alert calculation, has been completed, review and update the multisource configuration’s alert types. Consider the following for each alert type:
    • Tracked or informational alert types?
    • Should the alert type be Active in the next refresh?
    • Consider the rules for each alert type. Should the rules be modified to include secondary configurations?
  10. Set your desired options for the refresh and click Submit.
The system validates the configuration, and a message confirming that alerts will not be calculated appears.

Click Submit to proceed with the refresh without calculating alerts.

  11. In the Refresh Submitted window, click Continue.
The submitted refresh appears on the Signal Management Refreshes page.

Note:

Once the initial refresh is completed be sure to review and update your alert types before generating alerts for the new multisource signal configuration. A newly created multisource signal configuration may contain tracked alerts from the lead configuration, unlike a typical interactive signal configuration, which consists only of informational alert types after initial installation.
