Overview of upgrading and migrating to this release

You can perform a new installation of the InForm 6.3.1.1 software, or you can upgrade and migrate to the InForm 6.3.1.1 software from a previous version of the InForm software.

To upgrade or migrate to this release, perform the following steps, as needed:

Upgrade the database environment—Use to upgrade to the Oracle 12c database software.
For more information, see Upgrading the database environment.
Migrate the InForm studies—InForm 6.3.1.1 supports the following upgrade and migration paths.
- You can perform an in-place upgrade from InForm 6.2.x.x, 6.3, or 6.3.1.
  For more information, see Running an in-place upgrade.
- You can migrate to this release from any InForm 5.5.x.x, 6.0.x.x, 6.1.0.x, or 6.1.1.x release.
  For more information, see Migrating InForm studies to a new machine.
Migrate the InForm Portal software—Use to migrate the InForm Portal software to the InForm 6.3.1.1 release.

Migrate the reporting environment (Optional)—InForm 6.3.1.1 supports the following upgrade and migration paths. This step is required only if you are using the Reporting and Analysis module.
- You can perform an in-place upgrade of your reporting environment from InForm 6.2.x.x, 6.3, or 6.3.1.

- You can migrate your reporting environment to the InForm 6.3.1.1 release from any InForm 5.5.x.x, 6.0.x.x, 6.1.0.x, or 6.1.1.x studies
