Set the Default Units of Measurement

The Unit of Measure setting determines which system of measurement is used for distance, length, weight, and temperature in the patient portal. You can select Metric or Imperial. Imperail measurements are typically used in the United States, Liberia, and Myanmar. The rest of the world uses metric measurements.

Examples of imperial measurements include:
  • Distance: Mile
  • Length and height: Foot and inch
  • Weight and mass: Pound and ounce
  • Temperature: Fahrenheit

Examples of metric measurements include:

  • Distance: Kilometer
  • Length and height: Centimeter and millimeter
  • Weight and mass: Kilogram and gram
  • Temperature: Celsius
To view or change the default units of measurement used in your instance:
  1. From the Configuration page, select Configure Foundation.
  2. Select Edit next to Default Units of Measure. The Default Units of Measure drawer is displayed.
  3. Select Metric or Imperial from the list.
  4. Select Update.
