Schedule New Visits (Find New Care) in the Patient Portal

After signing in to your patient portal account, you can search for and schedule a visit with a new provider.

Note:

Depending on the visit type and provider, this workflow might vary.
  • If you use Ask Oracle, your workflow may vary depending on what you are looking for and the information needed. For example, "Schedule an appointment" would have a different workflow from "Schedule an appointment with Dr. Smith on Monday at 2 p.m."
  • Call the provider's office if you are unable to schedule online.
To schedule a visit with a new provider:
  1. If you manage multiple connected health profiles, optionally switch to a different health profile.
  2. From the Home menu, select Visits, and then select Schedule Appointment (or similarly named button), typically displayed in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Find New Care.
  4. Search for or select a specialty for the type of care you need.
  5. Select a visit location for that specialty. (You must select a specialty to see this list.)
  6. Enter a comment explaining the reason you need an visit.
  7. Scroll down to the What Type of Care Do You Need? section, and select the visit type.
  8. Select Search Appointments to see a list of matching visits is displayed.
  9. Select the applicable time and date option to display the calendar of applicable visit options.

    Note:

    If the provider you need is not listed, you may need to call that office to schedule a visit.
  10. Select a location. (Depending on the type of visit, you might be able to select Any Location from the Location list to see a list of visits for all available locations.)
    A list of available providers is displayed for that location.
  11. Select a date, and then select one of the time slots available for that date.
  12. Select Schedule Appointment.
    A confirmation page is displayed with the details of the visit.
  13. Optionally, select Add to Calendar Add to Calendar to add the visit to your personal calendar.
