The SCANNING_STRICTNESS_LEVEL preference now is recognized in Oracle Health EHR.

Whether clinicians can override a patient or medication scan during medication administration is dependent on the set scanning strictness level.

Last Given information now is displayed in the details for a medication activity.

  2. Select a medication activity from the Activity list. Verify that the Last Given information is displayed.
  3. Scan the patient's bar code, then scan the medication's bar code. Verify that the Last Given information is displayed in the card for the medication.

Fields Automatically Populated with Bar Code Information

When you scan a pharmacy generated medication bar code, the following fields are automatically populated:
  • Administer Dose
  • Dose Unit
  • Volume

Incremental Scanning Available

Component: Medication Administration

You now can scan medications in increments to add up to the ordered dose.

UI Impact: Workflow (Automatic)

Clinicians can scan increments of medications rather than having to scan the full dose at once.

Identify or create a medication order that can be completed in increments. Scan the patient's bar code, then scan each medication bar code. Verify that the scanned medication amounts are added correctly and equal the ordered dose.

Enhancement ORDERS-5150:

Only Medication Tasks within a Time Window Are Displayed in Needs Attention

Only scheduled orders due in the next hour or the previous two hours are displayed in Needs Attention.

Identify or create a patient with an order due in the next 60 minutes and access the patient's chart. Verify that only the order due in the next 60 minutes is displayed in Needs Attention. Verify that the order continues to be displayed until 120 minutes past the due date if it is not completed.

When overriding a medication scan for a medication activity with multiple ingredients, the Manufacturer field no longer becomes read-only.
