Messages Handling
The Messages Handling functionality allows you to manage messages for selected reservations with options to create, edit, delete, mark as delivered or undelivered. On the Messages page, you can see a list of all created message records for the selected reservation. If no messages are associated with the reservation, a 'No record found' indicator is shown.
To close this drawer and return to the previous screen, select the X icon.
Creating New Message
You can see Create button if you are granted Gateway Security, Message Handling, Create access.
- Select Create to open the Create Message page.
- Fill in the required fields:
- Sender: The sender of the message.
- Message: The content of the message.
- Delivery Type: Specify when the message will be
showed.
- No delivery: The message is not seen anywhere.
- Delivery during check-in: The message is seen during the check-in process.
- Delivery at gangway: The message is seen during gangway/tender movement.
- Delivery at internal gate: The message is seen during internal gate movement.
- Delivery at immigration gate: The message is seen during immigration gate movement.
- Acknowledgement Type: Determine if user
acknowledgement is required.
- No acknowledgement: No acknowledgement is required.
- User Acknowledgement: The user must acknowledge the message when viewing it.
- Manager Acknowledgement: The user must
have access to acknowledge the message by tapping their RFID
card or manually entering their credentials when viewing it.
- Message Type: Specify the message
priority.
- Standard: The message will be showed normally without a red flag indicator.
- Priority: The message will be showed with a red flag indicator.
- Message Type: Specify the message
priority.
- Effective Date: The date when the message becomes active. If the date is left blank, the message takes effect immediately.
- Expiry Date: The date when the message expires. If the expiry date is blank, the message will never expire.
- You can either:
- Save the message by selecting the Save button.
- Select Cancel button to return to the message listing page.
Editing Message
You can see Edit option from the card view, vertical ellipsis menu if you are granted Gateway Security, Message Handling, Edit access.
Note:
Only undelivered message can be edited.To edit a message,
- Select the message records you want to edit.
- Click the vertical ellipsis then select Edit to open the Edit Message page.
- Make the necessary changes to the message fields. All fields are mandatory except Effective Date and Expiry Date.
- Select Save to save or Cancel to discard.
Deleting Message
You can see Delete option from the card view, vertical ellipsis menu if you are granted Gateway Security, Message Handling, Delete access.
Note:
Only delivered message can be deleted.To delete a message,
- Select the delivered message record you want to delete.
- Click the vertical ellipsis then select Delete.
- A confirmation prompt You won’t be able to recover this message. Are you sure you want to delete this message? appears.
- Select Delete to confirm the deletion.
Marking Message as Delivered or Undelivered
You can see Delivered or Undelivered option from the card view, vertical ellipsis menu if you are granted Gateway Security, Message Handling, Delivered/Undelivered access.
To change the delivery status of a message,
- For undelivered messages, select Delivered from the vertical ellipsis menu to mark as delivered. See Profile message delivery for more information.
- For delivered messages, select Undelivered option from the vertical ellipsis menu to mark as undelivered.
