Products

The Products option displays the configuration of different products of your property.

From the Pricing main menu, select Products. By default, the screen opens to display the list of all the products of the property.

Prerequisites

Appropriate permissions are required to access the Products menu. From the Role Manager menu, select Role Permissions. The option accessible from the Pricing main menu is covered by the View Property Products permission on the Channel Management module. For further information, see: Role Permissions.

Managing Products

Use the following to search:

• Product Code: Select one or multiple product or type in the code or description to filter.

• Click Search to get search results. Click Reset to reset the search data and get the default display.

Viewing Products

Select the View icon on the right hand side of each product to view more details.

Product Definition

• Product Code: Shows the unique code of the product.

• Product Description: Shows the description of the product.

• Short Description: Shows the short description of the product.

• Calculation Rule: Shows the Calculation Rule of package amounts. It is either Flat Rate, Per Adult, Per Child, Per Person, or Per Room.

• Sell Separate: Shows whether the product can be sold separately as an added element. When adding a package directly to a reservation, the room rate field shows the main rate plan rate, and indicated to the right is the room rate including the packages added to the reservation. If Sell Separate is set to No, then this package can be set only on the Rate plan.

• Currency: Shows the currency of the products. By default, it uses the property’s currency.

• Transaction Code: Shows the posting transaction code of the product.

• Tax Inclusive: Shows whether the tax is included in the rate.

• Sell Date Range: Shows the date range you can sell the product. If the product sell end date is in the past compared to your system date, it shows Sell Date has expired.

• Posting Rhythm: Shows the posting rhythm of the package posting. By default, the Posting Rhythm is Post Every Night. Most posting rhythms are based on the actual arrival date of the reservation. If a custom posting rhythm is selected, you can view additional information:

  • When Posting Rhythm is Custom Posting Schedule (Based on Nights), the field Posting Nights appears and shows the stay nights the posting is applicable for. This supports multiple stay nights from one to 14. For example, if the posting is applicable for the 3rd, 4th and 5th stay nights, the value shows 3, 4, and 5.

  • When Posting Rhythm is Custom Posting Schedule (Based on Stay Days), the field Posting Stay Days appears and shows the stay days the posting is applicable for. This supports multiple stay days from one to 14. For example, if the posting is applicable for 1st and 3rd stay day, the value shows 1, 3.

  • When Posting Rhythm is applicable, Post on Every X Nights Starting Y Nights, Post Every, and Start on Night are visible under Posting Rhythm.

  • When Posting Rhythm is Post on Certain Nights of the Week, the field Posting Days shows the specified weekdays. This supports multiple weekdays, for example, Sun, Mon, and Wed.

Managing Product Schedules

Use the following to search.

• Start Date: Select the start date.

• End Date: Select the end date

• Click Search to get search results. Only records matching the selected criteria appear. Click Reset to reset the search data and get the default display.

Viewing Product Schedules

• Rate Period: Shows the sell date range of the schedule. A badge definition “Sell Date has expired” is displayed if the Product sell end date is a past date compared to the Property Date. If the rate end date is in the past compared to your system date, it shows Sell Date has expired.

• Price: Shows the price of the product.

• Minimum Nights: Shows the minimum number of reservations’ stay nights if the price is applicable.

• Maximum Nights: Shows the maximum number of reservations’ stay nights if the price is applicable.

• Minimum Guests: Shows the minimum number of guests required in reservation if the price is applicable.

• Maximum Guests: Shows the maximum number of guests required in reservation if the price is applicable.
