Create a Room Key (Video Transcript)

00:05

In this video you will learn how to make a key and how to change the key's access.

00:11

To create a key the reservation must have an assigned room. Let's get started

00:17

in Opera Cloud go to miscellaneous and select property interface control. The

00:23

property I'm logged into is selected. I can click the magnifying glass to select

00:28

a different property. Next, I scroll down and select the reservation status

00:33

magnifying glass. I select the checkbox to add in house reservation statuses and

00:39

then click select. I deselect the include blocks checkbox because I don't want to

00:45

include blocks in the results, and then I click search. Now, I'll scroll down to see

00:51

the list of search results. On the list of results I see the reservations with

00:56

assigned rooms and I can see the number of duplicate keys previously created for

01:02

each reservation. Next, I select the checkbox next to the reservations I want

01:06

to create a key for and then click the option to create key.

01:11

I'll scroll down to change the key options. In this example, I select the

01:17

option to create two keys for each reservation. Then, I select the start and

01:22

end date range for the keys. Next, I'll scroll down and turn on the option to

01:28

display all key encoder locations. Now, I can select the tabs to find the key

01:33

encoders in various locations around the property. In this example, I select a

01:38

default key encoder at the main entrance. Next, I'll click process. This key encoder

01:45

did not create a key and I see a message to select an alternate location. Next, I

01:50

turn on the option to display all the encoders and then select the key encoder

01:54

in the left hallway and then click create key.

02:01

Now I can see the keys created successfully.
