Using the Property Calendar

The Property Calendar provides a quick overview of the local area events and day types setup for specific dates.
  • Calendar events identify local area events which may have an impact on your property operations and occupancy levels. For more information, see Configuring (Calendar) Event Codes. Property events are indicated on the Room Diary and available via the calendar icon in the Look to Book Sales Screen

  • Day Types are used to adjust (increase or decrease) the price (rate amount) for selected rate codes on selected dates. (Available when the Day Type OPERA Control is active).

For current and future dates the Maximum Availability figure is displayed in the top left corner of each date in the monthly and list views of the calendar. Double-click the Maximum Available figure to launch Property Availability  for the selected date. 

You can select various view icons to change the Property Calendar view:
  • Day: Show only one day at a time

  • Week: Show only one week at a time

  • Month: Show one month at a time (this is the default view)

  • List: Show the calendar events as separate lines in a list

Adding Events to the Calendar

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Reservations Workspace, and then select Property Calendar.

  2. Click New and complete the following:

    1. Start Date: Enter or select a start date- this defaults to the date selected on the calendar.

    2. End Date: Enter or select an end date.

    3. Event: Select an event from the list.

    4. Days of the Week: Select Days of the Week to specify on which days the selected event applies within the date range.

    5. Click Save.

Adding Day Types to the Calendar

(Available when the Day Type OPERA Control is active.)

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Reservations Workspace, and then select Property Calendar.

  2. Click New and complete the following:

    1. Start Date: Enter or select a start date- this defaults to the date selected on the calendar.

    2. End Date: Enter or select an end date.

    3. Day Type: Select a day type from the list.

    4. Days of the Week: Select Days of the Week to specify on which days the selected event applies within the date range.

    5. Click Save.

Deleting Events from the Calendar

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Reservations Workspace, and then select Property Calendar.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the Event in the calendar, click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu, and select Delete.

  4. Confirm the date range for deletion.

  5. Click Delete to confirm.

Deleting Day Types from the Calendar

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Reservations Workspace, and then select Property Calendar.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the Day Type in the calendar, click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu, and select Delete.

  4. Confirm the date range for deletion.

  5. Click Delete to confirm.
