Merging Matched Reservations

A Matching Reservations details link is enabled in reservation search and reservation presentation for current day or future date arrival reservations when there are possible matching reservations identified. The Matching Reservations panel lists the possible matching reservation(s) that have an identical Lastname + Middlename + Firstname match and sequential reservation dates.

When the Allow Merge Reservations For Future Arrivals OPERA Control is inactive, the Matching Reservations details link is enabled only for current day arrivals.

Note:

The Matching Reservations details link is only enabled for reservations reserved for one room.

Reservation details such as Rate Code, Number of Persons, Discount, Linked Profiles, Accompanying Profiles, Linked Reservations, Traces, Guest Messages, Track It, Notes, Locators, Alerts, Routing, Payment Instructions, and Fixed Charges are merged from the matched reservation to the main reservation. If the merged reservation has any deposit payment, the deposit payment is transferred to the main reservation after the merge.

Once the merge of reservations is successful, the original matched reservations are canceled with the cancellation reason code selected in the Cancel Reason Code for Merge Reservations OPERA Control.

The following should be considered when merging reservations:
  • If you select reservations that do not have sequential nights, a message prompt is displayed that the merge cannot be completed.

  • If you select reservations with multiple nights and room type is different for at least one of the stay nights, a message prompt is displayed that the merge cannot be completed. If the selected multiple night reservation has same room type for all stay nights, but the room type is different than the room type in main reservation, reservations will be merged with the Main Reservation's room type

  • If different room types exist on the reservations, a message prompt is displayed as notification that the merge cannot be completed.

  • If room numbers have already been assigned to the reservations, the room number assigned to the Main reservation is retained as the room number for the reservation.

  • One block reservation can be merged into an individual reservation. When this merge occurs, the block inventory for the room type will only be affected for the dates that the block reservation is for. So any updates to the main reservation will only effect the block reservation if it has a direct effect on the block inventory for those dates. For the selected reservation(s) being merged into the main reservation, they are canceled after the merge has been completed.

  • Non-pseudo and pseudo room type reservations cannot be merged.

  • Share reservations cannot be merged.

  • Day use reservations cannot be merged.

  • The deposit and cancellation rule of the main reservation is refreshed with revised deposit / cancellation amount after the reservation is extended due to merge.

  • With an Oracle Hospitality OPERA Cloud Service, Loyalty subscription or when the External Loyalty Program OPERA Control is active, and the Award Redemption OPERA Control is active, reservations with Rate, Package, or Upgrade Awards cannot be merged. Merging Reservations

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Reservations, and then select Manage Reservation.

  2. Enter search criteria, click Search.

  3. Select and open the reservation in the search result, then click the Matching Reservations details link in reservation presentation Note: All matched reservations are listed

  4. Select reservations to merge

  5. Click Merge Reservations.

    Note:

    Reservation merge activity is recorded in the Change Log under the Cancel action type for merged reservations and Update Reservation action type for the Main reservation.
