Configuring Room Maintenance Codes

Prerequisites for Room Maintenance

Room maintenance codes are the various maintenance tasks categories selected from when creating a maintenance task requests. Users select a maintenance category and then enter additional notes to describe the maintenance issue. Examples: Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpet, Other.

Adding Room Maintenance Category Codes

When the OPERA Multi-property Cross Reservation Cloud Service is active, new Room Maintenance codes are created by selecting the Template tab. Once created, you can copy Room Maintenance codes to specific properties using the Copy action. For more information, see Copying Configuration Codes to Multiple Properties.

1. From the Administration menu, select Inventory, select Accommodation Management, and then select Room Maintenance.

2. Click New and complete the following:

   1. Code: Enter a code for the maintenance reason.

   2. Description: Enter a description for the maintenance reason.

   3. Sequence: Enter a number that controls the position of this code in listings. Codes without a sequence number assigned are listed in alphabetical order following codes with a sequence assigned. 

   4. Click Save.

Editing Room Maintenance Codes

To edit an existing room maintenance code in your property, do the following:

1. From the Administration menu, select Inventory, select Accommodation Management, and then select Room Maintenance.

2. Enter search criteria then click Search.

3. Select the room maintenance code in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Edit.

4. Update the configuration.

5. Inactive: Select check box to mark code as inactive.

6. Click Save.

Deleting Room Maintenance Codes

1. From the Administration menu, select Inventory, select Accommodation Management, and then select Room Maintenance.

2. Enter search criteria then click Search.

3. Select the room maintenance code in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Delete.

4. Click Delete to confirm.
