Modify/Update Block — Shift Block Date

Prerequisites for Shift Block

When the Shift Block OPERA Control is active, you can update a block and associated catering events to a new arrival/start date. When a shift date is initiated, the room allocation and all events associated with the block are updated. To ensure that the date change does not create availability conflicts, OPERA Cloud checks to ensure that room type inventory, function spaces, and event resources are available on the new dates.

When the Tour Series OPERA Control is active and the Tour Series Handling OPERA Control is set to Master Sub Relations and the dates of a sub-tour are shifted, the dates of the master tour are also updated.

When the Event Waitlist OPERA Control is active, and the status change/shift dates would result in a wait-list situation, a processing screen appears with the option to wait-list or cancel the event. When the Event Waitlist OPERA Control is not active, and status change/shift dates would cause an over book situation (with another block/event), a processing screen appears with the appropriate message, and you must cancel the current action.

Other block dates (Cutoff Date, Follow-up Date, Decision Date, Shoulder Dates, Catering Follow-Up Date, Catering Decision Date, and Rooming List Due Date) are automatically adjusted by the same number of days that the block dates have shifted.
