Managing Block Restrictions

You can setup block-level restrictions as needed; these could be length of stay restrictions or other restriction types enabled at your property. Restrictions can be set for specific room class or room type as needed. For more details see Restrictions.

Note:

Restriction dates must be within the block dates, no matter if the block reservation is elastic or non-elastic.

Adding Block Restrictions

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and then select Manage Block.
  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the block in the search result, click I Want To. . ., click Block Restrictions or click the Block Restrictions link in Block Presentation.

  4. Click New and enter the following details:

    1. Start Date: The restriction start date.

    2. End Date: The restriction end date.

    3. Restriction Days: All check boxes are preselected by default. Click to remove the check mark for days you do not want the restriction to be applied. For example, if a date range is for the entire month, but you do not want it to apply on Saturdays and Sundays, you would remove the check marks from the Saturday and Sunday check box.

    4. Restriction Type: Select the down arrow to choose the restriction type you want to apply. For more information, see Restrictions.

    5. Inventory:
      1. House: Select to indicate that the restriction applies at the house (property) level.

      2. Room Class: Select the room classes from list to which this restriction applies (Available when the Room Class OPERA Control is enabled).

      3. Room Types: Select the room types from list to which this restriction applies.

  5. Click Save or Save and Continue  to save and add another restriction.

Editing Block Restrictions

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and then select Manage Block.
  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the block in the search result, click I Want To. . ., click Block Restrictions or click the Block Restrictions link in Block Presentation.

  4. Select the restriction in the calendar.

  5. Click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu, and select View.

  6. Update restrictions details.

  7. Click Save.

Deleting Block Restrictions

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and then select Manage Block.
  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the block in the search result, click I Want To. . ., click Block Restrictions or click the Block Restrictions link in Block Presentation.

  4. Select the restriction in the calendar, click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu, and select Delete.

  5. Click Delete to confirm.

Clear All Restrictions for Selected Date

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and then select Manage Block.
  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the block in the search result, click I Want To. . ., click Block Restrictions or click the Block Restrictions link in Block Presentation.

  4. Select a date in the calendar

  5. Click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu, and select Clear All.

  6. Click Clear All again to confirm.
