Managing Welcome Offers

During check in, if the reservation is eligible for a welcome offer based on the condition specified in any of the Welcome Offer Alert rules, OPERA Cloud will prompt you to select the welcome offer for the reservation after the Check In Now action is selected. The welcome offers presented are determined by the Welcome Offer Options OPERA Control; valid options are:
  • Post It: If Post It is selected, the Post It screen displays where any appropriate articles can be posted. Select the Method of Payment specified in the Welcome Offer Payment Method OPERA Control. All the charges will be transferred to the room specified in the Welcome Offer Pseudo Room OPERA Control and the alert status will be changed to Redeemed.

    Note:

    A reservation for the Welcome Offer Pseudo Room OPERA Control room must be checked in; If this PM reservation is not checked in, OPERA Cloud will display the message: Welcome Offer Pseudo Room is not checked in.

  • Items: If Items is selected, the Item Inventory screen will display and a new item can be added to the reservation.

    Only Inventory Items configured as applicable for Welcome Offer will display in the list. For more information, see Reservation Item Inventory.

  • eCoupons: If eCoupons is selected, the eCoupon screen will display and an eCoupon can be added to the reservation.

    Only the eCoupons configured as applicable for Welcome Offer will display in the list. For more information, see Managing Reservation eCoupons.

Once redeemed the welcome offer alert status updates to Redeemed. Welcome Offer activity is tracked in the Changes Log.

Deferring Welcome Offer Selection on Check in

  1. Select the Defer Selection option and no welcome offer will be added to the reservation at the time of check-in.

  2. Click Save.

  3. The welcome offer alert status updates to Deferred and the guest will be able to redeem a welcome offer at a later stage during their stay.

Redeeming Deferred Welcome Offer

For welcome offers in Differed status:

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Front Desk, and then select Inhouse.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the reservation in the search result, click I Want to. . . then Alert or open the reservation and click Alert in Reservation Presentation.

  4. Select the Welcome Offer Alert , click Select Welcome Offer Option

  5. If you click on Cancel after one of the welcome offer options has been selected, the welcome offer status updates to Pending.

  6. Once redeemed the welcome offer alert status updates to Redeemed.

Redeeming Pending Welcome Offer 

For welcome offers in Pending status:

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Front Desk, and then select Inhouse.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the reservation in the search result, click I Want to. . . then Alert or open the reservation and click Alert in Reservation Presentation.

  4. Select the Welcome Offer Alert, click Redeem Selection.

  5. Once redeemed the welcome offer alert status updates to Redeemed.

Changing Pending Welcome Offer Selection

For welcome offers in Pending status:

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Front Desk, and then select Inhouse.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the reservation in the search result, click I Want to. . . then Alert or open the reservation and click Alert in Reservation Presentation.

  4. Select the Welcome Offer Alert , click Change Selection.
