Configuring OPERA Chain Scheduler

Prerequisites for Configuring Scheduler

Use OPERA Chain Scheduler to manage the scheduling of batch jobs; this feature is only available from a Hub location.

Note:

Multiple batch jobs can be processed concurrently.

Job Description

Membership Tier Management

This procedure processes membership upgrades, downgrades, and renewals for Loyalty memberships based on the Membership Type Level Rules and Configuring Membership Type Point Calculation and Tier Management configured. 

Extend Membership Points

This procedure extends membership points based on the Grace Period and the Activity Period defined in Configuring Membership Type Point Calculation and Tier Management .

Auto Merge Profiles

This procedure matches and merges profiles according to the profile merge rules configured. See Configuring Profile Merge Rules.

  • When profile sharing is inactive for your chain, only profiles registered for a specific resort are considered for match.

  • The manual profile merge conditions apply. See Merging Profiles.

  • Profile merge activity is tracked in the Changes Log: Profile Group, Merge Profile. Activity Type by Opera-Scheduler User.

Attach Orphan Stays

This procedure identifies orphan stay records created in the last 30 days and links them to the correct profile. The stay records may not have been originally linked because the profile was staged, or did not exist at the time the stay or reservation was uploaded; but has since been processed.

Calculate Membership Points

This procedure calculates membership points when the Points Calculation Method is set to Batch mode, based on the Configuring Membership Type Rules (Point Calculation Rules) and applies points to the member based on their activity (membership transactions).

Expire Membership Points

This procedure expires membership points when the Points Calculation Method is set to Batch mode, based on the Award Point Expiry Date defined in Configuring Membership Type Point Calculation and Tier Management .

Pending Profile Subscriptions

This procedure distributes profiles to external systems and creates profile subscriptions accordingly.

Searching Job Procedures

Batch jobs that are Completed, Scheduled, Disabled can be searched using the following search criteria:

  • Running: Select this checkbox button to view the jobs that are currently in the queue and are processing. This is the default screen when the OPERA Chain Scheduler is first accessed.

  • From Date: (Available when the Running option button is selected) Enter the date from when you would like to view the jobs that have already run and still have an active Job ID.

  • User Name: Select the user from the list, to filter the search with the user who initiated the Batch Jobs. Available only when you have Manage OPERA Chain Scheduler permission.

  • Job Id: Enter a portion, or all, of the Job Id. This ID, containing the job name and number, is assigned by the system to the process. It appears in a prompt before processing the batch.

Adding Job Procedures

  1. From the Administration menu, select Enterprise menu, then select OPERA Chain Scheduler.

  2. Click New and complete the following:

    1. Select a Procedure:

      1. Job Procedure: Select the Batch Job from the list.

    2. Scheduler Start and End Dates:

      1. Start Date: Enter or select the start date

      2. End Date: Enter or select the end date

      3. Start Time: Enter a start time HH:MM (24 hour clock)

      4. End Time Enter a end time HH:MM (24 hour clock)

    3. Recurrence Pattern:

      1. Once: Select this option if you want to run the Batch Job once

      2. Repeat:

        1. Hours: Select the number of hours for which the Batch Job needs to be run repeatedly.

        2. Days: Select the number of days for which the Batch Job needs to be run repeatedly.

        3. Weeks: Select the number of weeks for which the Batch Job needs to be run repeatedly, along with the Days of Week.

        4. Months: Select the number of months for which the Batch Job needs to be run repeatedly, along with the Week Number to Repeat and theDays of Week.

      3. Click Submit.

Editing Job Procedures

  1. From the Administration menu, select Enterprise menu, then select OPERA Chain Scheduler.

  2. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

  3. Select the batch job in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Edit.

  4. Update the batch jobs details.

  5. Click Submit.

Deleting Job Procedures

  1. From the Administration menu, select Enterprise menu, then select OPERA Chain Scheduler.

  2. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

  3. Select the batch job in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Delete.

  4. Click Delete to confirm.

Disabling Job Procedures

Only scheduled Batch Jobs can be disabled

  1. From the Administration menu, select Enterprise menu, then select OPERA Chain Scheduler.

  2. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

  3. Select the batch job in the search result , then click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Disable.

Enabling Job Procedures

Only disabled Batch Jobs can be enabled

  1. From the Administration menu, select Enterprise menu, then select OPERA Chain Scheduler.

  2. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

  3. Select the batch job in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Enable.

Running Job Procedures

Only scheduled Batch Jobs can be run

  1. From the Administration menu, select Enterprise menu, then select OPERA Chain Scheduler.

  2. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

  3. Select the batch job in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Run Job.

Viewing Log for Batch Jobs

  1. From the Administration menu, select Enterprise menu, then select OPERA Chain Scheduler.

  2. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

  3. Click on the Job ID.
