About Page Composer

Use page composer to customize the OPERA Cloud user interface to suit your operation requirements. Fields and web links can be added, relocated or removed from pages, and search pages customized. You can also setup standard dashboard pages and Quick Links for your chain or property.

Customization Inheritance

Page Composer is enabled at the tenant (global) level or for the current hub / property location. See Changing Your Location in Multi Property Operations.

  • Fields added or removed at a Global (chain) level apply to all Hub or Property locations.

  • Fields added or removed at a Hub location apply to the Hub location only.

  • Fields added or removed at a Property location apply to the Property only.

With page composer enabled, you can perform the following:

  • Customize panels. For more information, see Customizing or Personalizing a Screen with Page Composer

    • Add or remove standard and flex fields

    • Reorder fields in a panel (tab order)

    • Add field tool tips 

    • Change field labels

    • Change field colors

    • Add static and dynamic flex links (URLs)

    • Add REGEX validator for flex fields and predefined validators for standard fields.

    • Setup standard Dashboard pages, See Home Dashboard. For more information, see Home Dashboard

    • Setup standard Quick Launch Quick Links. For more information, see Quick Launch

  • Add custom business logic using Expression Language (EL). For more information, see Adding Custom Business Logic using Expression Language

  • Reorder, hide or show columns for table view of search results

User Tasks

The Page Composer customization options available are based on the General tasks granted to user roles.

  • Personalize task enables users to make changes that are only applicable and visible to the individual user who made the change. For example, hide/show fields, reorder fields in panels, and search areas where personalization is available.
  • Customize Chain task controls access to the Chain Customization Level, which enables users to make changes that affect or apply to all properties in the chain.
  • Customize Property/Hub task controls access to the Property/Hub Customization Level. Changes are applied or visible to users when logged in to a specific property or hub location based on the login context (Property or Hub). Deleting Customization

You can view all Page Composer changes and delete metadata files to remove customisations. For more information, see Viewing and Deleting Page Composer Customization.
