Accessibility in JET

The Oracle Health Insurance application is built using Oracle JavaScript Extension Toolkit (JET) components, such as tables and input text. Oracle JET components have built-in accessibility support. They follow the guidelines that the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) sets. Oracle JET components conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0 at the AA level (WCAG 2.0 AA).

Oracle Health Insurance supports the following features:

Keyboard Navigation

Oracle Health Insurance conforms to the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices 1.1. You can navigate through the Oracle Health Insurance application without a mouse and access all relevant functionality using only the keyboard. For details on how keyboard and touch operations work for JET components, see JET Keyboard and Touch Reference list. The link also documents any deviations from the WAI-ARIA guidelines.

Following are some common keyboard shortcuts that work with the application:

  • Tab to move to the next control, such as a field, tab, or a menu item. Tab moves from left to right, top to bottom.

  • Shift + tab to move to the previous control.

  • Space or enter or return to select highlighted element.

  • Up or down arrow key to select previous or next element in a table.

  • F2 to switch from navigation mode to edit mode for a flow region or a row, if they are editable.

Zoom

Oracle Health Insurance supports browser zooming up to 200%.

Screen Reader

All JET components that Oracle Health Insurance uses have a descriptive text that complies with WAI-ARIA standards. This helps the screen reader render the text to speech. There is no need to activate any special modes.

Each Oracle JET component has an appropriate role, such as a button, link, etc. Oracle Health Insurance applications label each component that helps an assistive technology.

Color Contrast

All Oracle Health Insurance applications support a luminosity-contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
