Configure the Coding Dictionary database user

On the Create Coding Dictionary Database User page, you enter the user and password that the Oracle Central Coding application will use to connect to the dictionary database. This user is not dropped or created, and does not have to exist at the time of the installation. You create the dictionary database using the Dictionary Loader tool. For more information, see Setting up the dictionary database.

Enter the following information, and then click Next.

  • Connection string—The TNS name to use when connecting to the dictionary database.

    Note:

To receive the best performance, Oracle recommends that you specify different connection strings for the Central Coding Database User, the Coding Platform Database User, and the Coding Dictionary Database User.
  • User—The name of the user account for the dictionaries (Example name: codingdictionaries).
  • Password, Retype Password—The password for the user account for the dictionaries.

    The password must contain:

    • One or more alphabetical (A-Z, a-z) and numeric (0-9) characters.
    • At least one non-alphanumeric character.
    • One or more upper case (A-Z) and lower case (a-z) characters.
    • A minimum of 8 characters.

Note:

Make a note of these values. You must use them when you create the repository for the dictionaries and when you connect to the database. For more information, see Creating a dictionary repository and Creating a connection to the database.
