The RIA provides an overview of the release requirements, including enhancements and bug fixes. It also identifies their potential impact and provides mitigation plans to minimize that impact.

The RIA:

Focuses on the release scope defined in the Product Requirements Document (PRD) and the Maintenance Release Requirements Document (MRRD).
Covers bugs and enhancements identified for the current release.
Is not produced for patch or patchset releases.
