Start a dynamic visit for a subject

If available in your study, by giving a certain answer to a question in a form, you may determine the display of a dynamic visit for a subject.

A dynamic visit only appears in a subject's schedule if it is relevant or needed in the process of data collection or dispensation of the investigational product. When a dynamic visit appears in a subject's schedule, you can also skip that visit, as long as data has not been entered for it. For more information, see Mark a visit that a subject misses as skipped.

You must know that, depending on when a dynamic visit is scheduled, the visit card may or may not appear in the Next Visits column, on the Subjects page. For example, on 28-May-2021 you answer a question related to a female subject's childbearing potential. The answer to that question determines the display of a dynamically scheduled visit with some associated relevant forms. However, that visit is scheduled for a visit window between 15-June-2021 and 20-June-2021. If there are any other visits that must happen before the dynamically scheduled one, then that dynamic visit does not appear right away on the Next Visits column. However, the visit is now part of the subject's schedule and will become visible on the Subjects page once you get closer to its visit window.

  1. On the Home page, determine where to work. For more information, see Access study modes and pages.
  2. Along the top, make sure Subjects is selected.
  3. Filter your view based on several criteria. For more information, see Filter subjects in a study.
  4. Complete data in the forms associated with that visit..
  5. Once a dynamic visit becomes active in a subject's schedule, depending on when its visit window is scheduled, a visit card may or may not appear on the Next Visits column, on both the Subjects page and on the visit page.
  6. If you have a dynamic visit that you don't think is correct for the subject:
    • Review the response provided for the question that displayed the dynamic visit and confirm it is correct.
    • If the answer is incorrect, update that answer, providing an appropriate reason for change.
The dynamic visit is no longer included in a subject's visit schedule.
