Update the status of a contact

You can only change a contact's status at the global level. Every contact status update has impact on the associations that exist between that contact and existing institutions.

When updating a contact's status, you have several options. Typically, you update a contact's status when that contact is no longer required in the studies that it is assigned to. See the significance and impact of each status update below.
Status Description
Restricted This status indicates that the contact is associated with an institution but they are not active yet.
Active This status indicates that the contact is active at the global level and is associated with an institution or more.
Retired This status indicates that the contact is inactive and can no longer be associated with an institution. Moreover, no institutions are associated with this contact.
Disbarred This status indicates that the contact no longer has the right to practice their profession, therefore they cannot be a part of the organization anymore. Their associated sites must be transferred, as well.
Deceased This status indicates that the contact passed away and therefore its associates sites can no longer be associated with them.
