Lock a question, form, or visit for a subject

You can lock specific questions, forms, or entire visits to prevent users from editing subject data.

To performs this task, you must be assigned with the Lock Subject Data Entered at a Site permission.

Note:

If the item's data you would like to lock has been previously cleared, it may be necessary to refresh the page to view the Lock option in the menu.
  1. On the Home page, Access your study in a specific mode.
  2. Along the top, make sure Subjects is selected, and that you're on the Subject Overview view.
  3. Locate a subject on the subjects list and select a visit in the Previous Visits column.

    Tip:

    You can use filters to narrow down your subjects list. For step-by-step instructions, see Filter subjects in a study.
  4. While in the visit, from the Lock Data drop-down, select Lock.
  5. Choose one of the following:
    • To lock a specific question, select the checkbox next to the question.
    • To lock a specific form, select the checkbox next to the form name on the Forms sidebar to the left.
    • To lock the entire visit, select the checkbox next to Forms on the Forms sidebar to the left.
  6. In the Lock Data dialog, select Lock to confirm you would like to lock the question with the query.
    A locked iconLocked appears next to the locked questions and on the visit tile if the whole visit is locked.
