Unlock a question or query

Sponsor users can unlock questions and queries that have been previously locked to prevent users from modifying subject data.

Sponsor users provided with the Lock Subject Data Entered at a Site permission have the ability to unlock queries that were locked in order to prevent other users from updating that subject's data.
  1. On the Home page, Access your study in a specific mode.
  2. Along the top, make sure Subjects is selected, and that you're on the Subject Overview view.
  3. Locate a subject on the subjects list and select a visit in the Previous Visits column.

Visits with open queries display in red and are marked with an Open Queries icon Visit label for queries.

    Tip:

You can use filters to narrow down your subjects list. For step-by-step instructions, see Filter subjects in a study.
  4. While in the visit, from the Unlock Data drop-down, select Unlock.
  5. Choose one of the following:
    • The checkbox next to the question or form that you would like to unlock.
    • The checkbox next to Formson the Forms sidebar to unlock the entire visit.
  6. In the Unlock Data dialog, choose an option from the Reason for Change drop-down, then select Unlock.
Unlocked Unlocked appears next to the query.
  7. Select Save & Close.
