Duplicate Search enhancements
The Duplicate Search functionality has been enhanced to include support for multiple products and events, an enhanced user interface, improved search algorithms, and configurable weights/thresholds and related settings.
Smart Duplicate Search Algorithm Enhancements
- You can now search for up to two products and two events using the updated Smart Duplicate Search algorithm.
- Pending Intake records are now included in the Smart Duplicate Search algorithm. Previously, duplicate search only considered records that had been accepted as cases.
Intake Worklist and Intake Monitor updates
- The “Linked Intake ID” column has been added to your Intake Worklist and Intake Monitor so you can quickly access and view associated intake records when a follow-up record is pending Intake processing.
Enhanced User Interface
- The layout of the Duplicate Search screen has been refactored.
- When you first navigate to the Duplicate Search screen, a default set of fields is displayed. You can add and remove fields from the search form as needed using the Select Columns/Fields
widget.
- After initiating a duplicate search, the search results are displayed using a default set of columns. You can add or remove columns from the results grid by using the Select Columns/Fields
widget.
Note:
Any adjustments you make to the search form or results grid are saved as user preferences so that when you return to the screen, your customizations are preserved. - “Record Type” is a new column added to the search results grid so you can identify results as an existing "Case" or an "Intake" record pending further processing.
- You can further narrow the results of a duplicate search by using the smart search field above the results grid, which allows you to add or select additional filters.
- You can select "Export Results List" from the Actions drop down menu to download a .csv file containing the list of duplicate search results.
- You can refer to the Safety One Argus Intake Field List spreadsheet to see the default set of fields available for search and results in the eTRM documentation.
PII data handling for Duplicate Search
- Fields containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in duplicate search form, search results grid, and match score card are displayed based on your user credentials.
- This is configured at the Case Form section level in Argus Console > Access Management > User Groups > Case Form.
- If your user account is not configured to view PII, the field displays the value as “[PII Restricted]”.
- You can still use PII as search criteria to perform a Duplicate Search even if your user account is unable to view PII in the interface.
Match Score Details enhancements
- You now can view Exclusion criteria on the Score Details panel, as well as score information for up to two products and two events. You can access the Score Details panel by clicking the number in the Score column of the duplicate search results grid.
Argus Console updates for Duplicate Search
- You can configure the weights and thresholds for Duplicate Search using an excel spreadsheet, available for download directly from Argus Console:
- Navigate to Argus Console > System Management (Common Profile Switches) > Case Processing > Duplicate Search.
- Enterprise-specific switches are added to the Duplicate Search configuration options available in Argus Console:
- Enable Transposed Date Matching – Use this switch to allow transposed date matching (e.g. 03-Jan-2026 matches 01-Mar-2026). The default value is "Yes".
- Enable Numerical Scoring for Patient Age – Enable this setting if you want the Patient Age field to use fuzzy matching (e.g. 20 years matches 21 years). The default value “Yes”.
For exact matching on Patient Age during Duplicate Search, set this value to "No".
