Follow-up merge enhancements

Follow-up case merge functionality has been updated in release 2026.1.01 with a redesigned Merge Viewer, advanced comparison logic, and enhanced automation capabilities.

Merge Viewer updates

  • When you access the new Merge Viewer, follow-up information is overlaid onto the Intake Form, presenting the updated case data clearly so you can merge or reject individual pieces as appropriate.
  • Select Case to display the navigation pane. Select Quality Check to access the new Quality Check feature.
  • As in the navigation pane on the Intake Form, you can click any of the sections or field names under Case to load that part of the form for review.
  • You can view all the system-recommended changes to the merged record in the Quality Check panel. Items in the list are marked as Added, Updated, or Removed; a Verify button is available so you can quickly approve updated information for the merge. Selecting an item in the Quality Check list takes you directly to the field where information has been changed.

Follow-up merge comparison logic

  • You can access the predefined comparison logic for evaluating follow-up data against existing case information in the Default Merge Configuration spreadsheet, available in the Argus Console.
  • To access and update the merge logic configuration, navigate to Argus Console > System Configuration and click the new menu option Intake Follow-up Merge Configuration.
    • A Default configuration is available with the associated Default_Merge_Configuration.xlsx file. You can download the default file directly from the Argus Console and use that file as the starting point for any additional follow-up configurations you may need to implement.
    • You can create new merge configurations, adjust comparison logic, and have different intake sources follow specific configuration logic by uploading your modified configuration spreadsheet to the Intake Follow-up Merge Configuration section of the Argus Console.

      Note:

This new mode of configuration replaces previous custom procedures and logic for processing follow-ups for E2Bs (R2 and R3):
      • The customization done for E2B R3 profile Follow-up Receive > ICSR Follow-up case identification logic remains intact.
      • E2B R3 Follow-up Processing: Console > System Configuration > Interchange > Manage Profile > Follow-up Receive > “Custom comparison logic” and “PK Element Configuration” is no longer applicable.
      • E2B R2 Follow-up processing: The customization done for E2B R2 import using custom procedures is no longer applicable.

Merge Process enhancements

  • Previously, you were only able to replace or reject any follow-up information in large text data fields, such as Narrative and Reporter Comments. You can now prepend or append follow-up text to large data text fields.
  • You can now merge an intake record with an existing, pending intake record in addition to cases.
  • You can now merge an intake record on a closed case.

    Note:

In this situation, the system continues to automatically merge E2B follow-ups and applies the Auto-accept ICSR configuration of the existing reporting destination.

Audit Log enhancements

The Audit Log has three new categories for tracking changes made to follow-up configurations:
  • Intake Follow Up Merge Configuration
  • Intake Follow Up Merge Configuration – Details
  • Intake Follow Up Merge Configuration – Sources
