Run Terminal Hardware Checks
Run terminal hardware checks when Oracle Support asks you to confirm whether a card reader, keypad, or contactless reader is working.
Note: These instructions should only be followed when advised by Oracle Support.
The terminal can check hardware such as the chip card reader, magnetic stripe reader, physical keypad, and contactless reader.
You need access to the terminal menus. For information about opening the terminal menus and obtaining the administrator passcode, see Terminal Menus Guide.
- Open the terminal menu.
- Select Diagnostics.
-
In the hardware section, select the hardware check that Oracle Support asked you to run.
A green or red result shown next to a check is the result from the last time that check was run.
- If the terminal shows a start arrow, select it to begin the check.
-
Follow the instructions shown on the terminal screen.
During a keypad check, the key sounds may use the standard terminal volume. After the check, the terminal returns to its normal volume setting.
- Check the result and share it with Oracle Support.
A green result means the hardware check passed. A red result means the check failed.
If the check failed and you are sure you followed the terminal instructions correctly, tell Oracle Support which hardware check failed.
If the terminal stops responding during a check, select Report issue. The terminal records the issue, stops the check, and returns to the menu.
Diagnostic Report
Oracle Support may ask you to send a diagnostic report from the terminal.
- Open the terminal menu.
- Select Diagnostics.
- Under Diagnostic Report, select Send report.
The terminal creates a report for Oracle Support. After you send a report, wait at least 5 minutes before sending another report.
