The diagnostic image functionality provided by the WebLogic Diagnostic Service gathers the most common sources of key server state used in diagnosing problems and packages that state into a single file, or "diagnostic image." In the Administration Console, you can specify the default destination directory where diagnostic images for a server are saved, and you can initiate an immediate capture of an image for a server. You can also define an action to save a diagnostic image based on a policy.
If WebLogic Server is configured with Java HotSpot VM, and Java Flight Recorder is enabled, the diagnostic image capture includes WebLogic Server diagnostic data in a Java Flight Recorder file, which can be viewed in Java Mission Control.
The volume of data that is produced for the Java Flight Recorder file
in the diagnostic image can be customized. To use this capability, you
must enable Java Flight Recorder and set the WLDF diagnostic volume to
Low
, Medium
, or
High
.
Note: If WebLogic Server is configured with Java HotSpot, Java Flight Recorder is disabled by default. For information about how to enable Java Flight Recorder in WebLogic Server, see Using Flight Recorder with Java HotSpot VM.
