Business Objects

Use the Business Objects page to create, edit, and manage business objects, which retrieve data from a REST or SQL data source. The retrieved data can be rendered on a portal page in a data visualization using a visualization template. More

Out-of-the-box, this page is empty as no business objects exist. Business objects can be created only at the portal level (as a portal asset), not at the application level (as a shared asset).

Element	Description
Create	Click to open the Create Business Object wizard.
Delete	Click to delete the currently selected business object.
Actions Menu	Click to choose one of the following actions: Copy to create a copy of the selected business object. More When you create a copy, the copy is initially hidden regardless of the show or hide status of the original business object. Edit Properties to open the Edit Properties dialog, where you can update the properties of the selected business object. More Show Properties to open the Show Properties dialog, where you can view information about the selected business object, such as the display name, description, asset ID, metadata file location, creation date, and so on. Filter	Enter a full or partial search string then click to refresh the list with all the business objects for which a match is found. Click to clear the current search string and display all business object.
Business Objects	Lists all business objects.
Modified By	Displays the user name of the user who last edited the business objects and the date and time at which the changes were made.
Actions	Click Edit to edit the selected business object in the Edit Business Object wizard.
