Copy Asset/Delete Asset/Upload Asset/Download Asset/Upload Icon

Use this dialog to perform the desired operation:

Copy Asset

The Copy Asset dialog enables you to create a copy of the selected asset.When you create a copy of an asset, the copy is marked as hidden regardless of the status of the original asset. More

Note: You cannot create copies of Content Presenter display templates.

Element Description

Display Name

Enter a name for the copy.

Description

Enter a description of the asset.

Delete Asset

The Delete Asset dialog enables you to delete the selected asset. You cannot delete built-in assets. More

Note: Before you delete an asset, you must ensure that the asset is not in use. With the exception of page layouts, if you mark an asset for deletion, it is deleted even if it is in use. For page layouts, a message notifies you that the layout is in use and cannot be deleted.

In the Delete Asset dialog, click OK to confirm that you want to delete the selected asset.

Upload Asset

The Upload Asset dialog enables you to upload a new asset to WebCenter Portal. More

When you upload an asset:

  • Existing assets, that is, assets with the same internal ID, are overwritten.

  • Portal assets are uploaded back only into their original portal. You cannot upload a portal asset into a different portal.

  • Assets must be in an archive file format on your local file system or a remote server.

Note: You cannot download an asset from one portal, then upload that same asset to another portal. In other words, migrating assets from one portal to another is not supported. To use an asset across multiple portals, the asset must be created as a shared asset.

Element Description

Look on My Computer

Select to upload an archive file from your local file system. Click Choose File to locate the file.

Look on WebCenter Portal Server

Select to upload an archive file from a remote server file system. In the field below, enter the location on the server where the file is located.

Upload

Click to upload the specified asset.

If the asset already exists in the portal, click Yes to confirm that you want to replace the asset with the contents of the archive file. Click OK in the resulting success dialog.

Download Asset

The Download Asset dialog enables you to download the selected asset to an archive file, which you can save either to your local file system or a remote server file system. After downloading the asset, you can then import it into the IDE of your choice, such as JDeveloper. More

Note: You cannot download an asset from one portal, then upload that same asset to another portal. In other words, migrating assets from one portal to another is not supported. To use an asset across multiple portals, the asset must be created as a shared asset.

Element Description

Archive File Name

Enter a name for the archive file.

Save to My Computer

Select to save the archive file to your local file system. When you click Download, you are prompted for the location on the file system where you want to save the file.

Save to WebCenter Portal Server

Select to save the archive file to the portal server file system. In the Path field, enter the location on the portal server where you want to save the archive file.

Download

Click to download the selected asset.

If you selected to save the archive file to your local file system, you are prompted to specify the location where you want to save the file.

Upload Icon

The Upload Icon dialog displays only for a custom visualization template asset. More

When you upload an icon, the icon displays in the Define Data Visualization wizard on the Template page to represent the custom visualization template. T

Element Description

Select Icon

Click Choose File to upload a new icon image, or Update to replace an existing icon image. The icon image file must be of file type GIF, PNG, or JPG, and should be no larger than 150K and 200x143 pixels for best results.
