SQL Data Sources

Use the SQL Data Sources page to manage SQL data sources for all portals (if accessed through the Shared Assets page) or for the current portal (if accessed through the Assets page). More

The SQL Data Sources page lists all the available SQL data sources. Out-of-the-box, this page is empty as there are no built-in SQL data sources in WebCenter Portal.

Element Description

Create icon Create

Click to create a new SQL data source. More

Delete icon Delete

Click to delete the currently selected SQL data source.More

Upload icon Upload

Click to open the Upload New SQL Data Source dialog, where you can enter the name of an AAR file to use to import a data source into WebCenter Portal. More

The AAR file can be located on the local file system or the file system on a server. More

Download icon Download

Click to open the Download dialog, where you can export the selected SQL data source to an AAR file on your local file system or the file system on a server. More

Actions menu

Click to choose one of the following actions:

Copy to create a copy of the selected SQL data source. More

When you create a copy, the copy is initially hidden regardless of the show or hide status of the original SQL data source.

Copy To Shared Assets to copy a SQL data source to application-level shared assets for use by other portals.

Show Properties to open the Show Properties dialog, where you can view information about the selected SQL data source. More

Edit Properties to open the Edit Properties dialog, where you can update the properties of the selected SQL data source More

Filter

Enter a full or partial search string then click The Search icon. to refresh the list with all the SQL data sources for which a match is found.

Click Clear Search icon to clear the current search string and display all SQL data sources.

Refresh icon Refresh

Click to refresh the list of SQL data sources.

Data Controls

Lists SQL data sources.

The Shared icon icon next to a SQL data source name indicates that the SQL data source is shared and available for use in the current portal.

Available

Select to indicate whether the SQL data source is published or not. More

  • A check mark (Available) indicates that SQL data source is published and available for others to use.

  • An empty check box (Hidden) indicates that the SQL data source is not yet published.

Modified By

Displays the user name of the user who last edited the SQL data source and the date and time at which the changes were made.

Actions

Click Edit to edit the SQL data source. More
