Tag Center

Use the Tag Center to view all personal and shared tags that you or other users have applied to WebCenter Portal items and to access the items that are tagged.

The Tag Center is divided into three areas:

Tag Cloud

The Tag Cloud panel provides a view of all personal and shared tags. Select from Cloud view and List view.

Element	Description
Search Tags	Enter a term, and click the Search icon. All tags that include the term display in the Tag Cloud. The All Tags/My Tags list updates to include all tags containing 'searched_tag_name'. For example, if you search for the term `project`, then the tags `project-x` and `project-y` display in the Tag Cloud. The filtering list includes All Tags, My Tags, All tags containing 'project', and My tags containing 'project'.
Switch to List/Cloud View	Click to toggle between the Tag Cloud and the Tag List. The Tag Cloud provides a visual depiction of user-generated tags. Tags are clustered according to your selected sorting option. The importance of a tag is shown with font size; that is, the larger the font, the more frequently the tag was applied to that item. This makes it easy to find the most frequently used tags. The tags in a tag cloud are linked to a list of items to which the tags are applied. Click a tag to display the items to which it is applied in the right panel of the Tag Center. The Tag List is a list of user tags that are linked to a list of items associated with the tag. Click a tag to display the items to which it is applied in the right panel of the Tag Center. The Tag List is arranged according to your selected sorting option.
Sorting Options	Click to open the Sort Options dialog to arrange the display of the Tag Cloud. Choose from: Sort By: Name—Sort tags from 1 to 9 and then A to Z (ascending) or Z to A and then 9 to 1 (descending) Date—Sort tags from the most recently added to the oldest (ascending) or from the oldest to the most recently added (descending) Popularity—Sort tags from the least frequently applied to the most frequently applied (ascending) or from the most frequently applied to the least frequently applied (descending) Sort Direction: Ascending—Arrange tags from their lowest to highest value within their sort order. Descending—Arrange tags from their highest to lowest value within their sort order. Click the Sort button to apply your sorting selections. Click Cancel to exit without sorting.
Refresh Tags	Click to refresh your view of the Tag Cloud. The Tag Cloud updates with any applied tags, and newly removed tags are removed from display.
All Tags/My Tags	A list for filtering the Tag Cloud to display only the tags you applied or all applied tags.
Tag Cloud	The display area for tags. What is shown depends on whether the Tag List or Tag Cloud is selected: The Tag Cloud displays tags in a mass according to your Sorting options. Tags are shown in different font sizes according to how often they have been used. The selected tag displays as bold and includes an associated Clear Selection icon (). Use the Clear Selection icon to unselect the selected tag in the cloud. The Tagged Items panel refreshes to display all tagged items. The Tag List displays tags in a list, according to your sorting options. The selected tag is highlighted and includes an associated Clear Selection icon (). Use the Clear Selection icon to unselect the selected tag in the list. The Tagged Items panel refreshes to display all tagged items.

Refine Tag Results

The Refine Tag Results panel provides methods for further narrowing the display of tagged items. Additionally, you can use controls in the Refine Tag Results area to reset the Tag Center to display items tagged with a refinement tag or by a refinement user name.

Selecting a different tag in the Tag Cloud removes all refinements.

Tagged With	A list of other tags used on one or more of the same items as the current tag. Select one or more refinement tags to limit the displayed tagged items to only those instances that include the current tag and any refinement tags. For example, if the current tag is `jcr`, and you select the refinement tag `specifications`, then links to only those items tagged with both `jcr` and `specifications` appear in the Tagged Items panel. After you select a refinement, a Clear Selection icon () appears next the refiner. Click the Clear Selection icon to remove the applied refiner. The Tagged Items panel refreshes to display tagged items without the refiner. Optionally, click the Clear current selection and select refiner_name icon () to the right of the refinement tag to display all items tagged with the refinement tag in the Tagged Items panel.
Tagged By	A list of users who applied the current tag. Select a refinement user to limit the displayed tagged items to only those instances tagged with the current tag and tagged by the refinement user. For example, if the current tag is `jcr`, and you select the refinement user `jdoe`, then links to only those items tagged with `jcr` and by `jdoe` appear in the Tagged Items panel. Optionally, click the Clear current selection and select refiner_name icon () to the right of the refinement user to display all items tagged by the refinement user in the Tagged Items panel. Note: A Presence icon also displays next to each refinement user. Click it to open a context menu with options for contacting its associated user instantly.

Tagged With

A list of other tags used on one or more of the same items as the current tag.

Select one or more refinement tags to limit the displayed tagged items to only those instances that include the current tag and any refinement tags. For example, if the current tag is jcr, and you select the refinement tag specifications, then links to only those items tagged with both jcr and specifications appear in the Tagged Items panel.

After you select a refinement, a Clear Selection icon () appears next the refiner. Click the Clear Selection icon to remove the applied refiner. The Tagged Items panel refreshes to display tagged items without the refiner.

Optionally, click the Clear current selection and select refiner_name icon () to the right of the refinement tag to display all items tagged with the refinement tag in the Tagged Items panel.

Tagged By

A list of users who applied the current tag.

Select a refinement user to limit the displayed tagged items to only those instances tagged with the current tag and tagged by the refinement user. For example, if the current tag is jcr, and you select the refinement user jdoe, then links to only those items tagged with jcr and by jdoe appear in the Tagged Items panel.

Optionally, click the Clear current selection and select refiner_name icon () to the right of the refinement user to display all items tagged by the refinement user in the Tagged Items panel.

Note: A Presence icon also displays next to each refinement user. Click it to open a context menu with options for contacting its associated user instantly.

Tagged Items

The Tagged Items panel lists all items tagged with the currently-selected tag and any selected refinements.

Element	Description
Selected: tag_name Refinements: list_of_refiners	The selected tag and any refinements that were used in the generation of the current list of tagged items.
Tagged by Me/Anyone	Choose to limit the list of tagged items: Tagged by Me/user_name—Display only the items you or a selected user tagged that use the current tag and any refinements you have selected. Tagged by Anyone—Display all items that use the current tag and any refinements you have selected. The currently-selected option is bolded.
Sort By	Choose sorting criteria for the list of tagged items: Popularity—Sort the list of tagged items according to the most popular, that is, from the items to which the current tag and any refinements you have selected were most frequently applied to the items to which the current tag was least frequently applied. Name—Sort the list of tagged items by the user who applied them. Date—Sort the list of tagged items from the item most recently tagged to the earliest item tagged.
List of Tagged Items	A list of items to which the currently selected tag and any refinements you have selected have been applied. The list includes the display name of the item and additional data, such as the other tags applied to the item, the number of persons who tagged the item, and the date the item was last tagged. Click the item display name to navigate to the item itself.
