Announcements Console

Note:

Oracle WebCenter Portal has deprecated the support for Jive features (announcements and discussions). If you have upgraded from a prior release to Release 12c (12.2.1.4.0), Jive features remain available in your upgraded instance but Oracle support is not provided for these features. In the next release, Jive features will not be available even in the upgraded instances

The Announcements console enables you to create, edit, view, link from, and remove announcements that are broadcast to all members of a specific portal.

Create icon Create

Click to open the Create Announcement dialog, where you can create a new announcement.

Show

Select filtering criteria:

  • All—All currently published announcements

  • Today—All announcements published today

  • Since Yesterday—All announcements published since yesterday

  • Last 7 days—All announcements published in the last 7 days

  • Last 30 days—All announcements published in the last 30 days

For the selection made from the first list, select a secondary filtering criteria:

  • Active—All announcements that are active

  • Future—All announcements that will appear at a future date

  • Expired—All announcements that have expired

When you create an announcement, you can specify when to publish it to other members of a portal. An announcement created today displays in the Announcements Manager only if the publication date falls within the time period specified. More

RSS icon Announcement RSS Feed

RSS feeds must be enabled for the current portal to view the RSS Feed icon.

Click to obtain a news-feed URL, and use your WebCenter Portal login to view an RSS feed for all announcements displayed on this page. Right-click the RSS icon to open your browser's context menu and copy the link location. Use the link location with your preferred RSS reader. Your reader must support HTTP authentication. More

Refresh icon Refresh

Click to refresh your view of the Announcement Manager.

When an announcement is listed:

Edit icon Edit Announcement

Click to open the associated announcement in the Edit Announcement dialog.

This icon appears only when there is at least one listed announcement.

Delete icon Delete Announcement

Click to delete the associated announcement.

This is a manual alternative to waiting for the announcement to expire according to its specified expiration date.

This icon appears only when there is at least one listed announcement.

Send Mail

Click to open a Compose mail dialog, where you can send the announcement to the users you specify. You may be required to enter your mail login credentials. More

Links icon Find or Create Links

Click to open the Links dialog, where you can view existing links or create links from the associated announcement to other WebCenter Portal assets or to an internal or external URL.

This icon appears only when there is at least one listed announcement.
