Visualization Templates

Use the Visualization Templates page to manage custom visualization templates that have been uploaded to WebCenter Portal.

Out-of-the-box, this page is empty as no custom visualization templates exist. You cannot edit or manage the built-in visualization templates, so they are not exposed on the Shared Assets or portal Assets page.

Element Description

Delete icon Delete

Click to delete the currently selected visualization template. More

Upload icon Upload

Click to open the Upload dialog, where you can enter the name of an AAR file to use to import a visualization template into WebCenter Portal. More

The AAR file can be located on the local file system or the file system on a server.

Download icon Download

Click to open the Download dialog, where you can export the selected visualization template to an AAR file on your local file system or the file system on a server. The AAR file can then be edited in JDeveloper. More

Actions menu

Click to choose one of the following actions:

  • Edit Source to directly edit the source code of the visualization template on the Fragment tab. Editing the source code is not recommended unless you are making a minor edit. More

  • Copy to create a copy of the selected visualization template. More

    This is the only way to create a new visualization template in WebCenter Portal. Once copied, you can download the template for customization in JDeveloper.

  • Copy To Shared Assets to copy a visualization template to application-level shared assets for use by other portals.

  • Show Properties to open the Show Properties dialog, where you can view information about the selected visualization template. More

  • Edit Properties to open the Edit Properties dialog, where you can update properties for the selected visualization template. More

  • Upload Icon to open the Upload Icon dialog, where you can upload an icon (150K or less in size) to represent the custom visualization template in the Define Data Visualization wizard on the Template page.

Filter

Enter a full or partial search string then click The Search icon. to refresh the list with all the visualization templates for which a match is found.

Click Clear Search icon to clear the current search string and display all visualization templates.

Click to refresh the list of visualization templates.

Available

Select to indicate whether the visualization template is published or not. More

  • A check mark (Available) indicates that visualization template is published and available for others to use.

  • An empty check box (Hidden) indicates that the visualization template is not yet published. Hidden visualization templates are not available in the Define Data Visualization wizard for selection.

Modified By

Displays the user name of the user who last edited the visualization template and the date and time at which the changes were made.

Actions

Click Edit to edit the visualization template. More
