VMware ESXi OS Installation Tasks
The following table describes the high-level steps for installing VMware ESXi
software.
For information about the complete VMware ESXi environment and installation
instructions for other components of VMware ESXi, refer to the VMware ESXi

Review the server Product Notes for information updates.
|
|

Install server hardware and connect to the Oracle ILOM service
processor.
|
|

|
Confirm the VMware ESXi release that you want to
install.
|
|

Choose an installation method. You can use the manual Installer or
the automated Installer.
Note -
Manual Installation is used in this example.

Verify that your system meets the requirements for
VMware ESXi installation:
-
Minimum memory, disk space, etc.

Firmware is updated to the latest version.

Prepare to install VMware ESXi:
|
|

Partition your system. The Installer can install VMware ESXi
on an entire disk or on a partition.

Download the VMware ESXi image.
|

Perform an VMware ESXi Installation.

Reboot the server before using VMware ESXi.

Perform post-installation tasks.
Download patches from My Oracle Support.
Use the VMware ESXi to:

List and search software packages.

Install, update, and remove software.

Upgrade to a new VMware ESXi release.
