New BIOS Setup Selections Can Disable Keyboard and Mouse, and Virtual CD/DVD Drive (21653077)

Two new selections have been added to the Advanced > USB Ports screen in the BIOS Setup Utility. These selections include:

  • BMC CD/DVD Drive: Enable or disable the virtual CD/DVD drive in Oracle ILOM.

  • BMC Keyboard and Mouse: Enable or disable keyboard and mouse access to the host.

    Note -  If you disable the BMC Keyboard and Mouse, you cannot use a keyboard to access the host, and you cannot enter the BIOS Setup Utility again to re-enable it. Instead, you must use Oracle ILOM to re-enable it. For details, refer to the Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) 3.2 Documentation Library at: https://www.oracle.com/goto/ilom/docs.

To disable or enable Oracle ILOM to host USB ports:

  1. Access BIOS.

  2. Select Advanced -> USB.

  3. Scroll down the list and select Enabled or Disabled as desired.
