Perform Manual Switchovers and Failovers

You can still perform a manual switchover or failover when you run the switchover or failover steps without using OCI Full Stack Disaster Recovery Service. The OCI Full Stack Disaster Recovery Service isn't aware of role changes, so the roles in the DR Protection Groups are not changed and will not match the real state. After performing a manual switchover or failover, you must manually update the role in the DR Protection Groups to match the current role.

1. Log onto the OCI Console.
2. Navigate to the DR Protection Group that is marked as standby.
3. Edit the DR Protection Group’s role and click Change to primary.
   The role of the DR Protection Groups is reversed without performing any action. You don't need to repeat this task in the other DR Protection Group. After changing the role in one of the DR Protection Groups, both will match the current state.
