Initial Release.
This chapter describes issues that are known to exist in this release of Oracle GoldenGate Monitor. The information in this section is divided into the following releases:
Oracle GoldenGate Core Manager Needs to be Restarted If JDK Changed To 1.7
Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Agent supports only JDK7 so, if you start Manager JDK6 and Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Agentwith JDK7, registration will not occur. To register the agent successfully with Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Server, you must restart the manager. Do one of the following:
If you plan ahead and decide to monitor Oracle GoldenGate Monitor instances, ensure that JDK 1.7 is added in the PATH and JAVA_HOME environment variables and then start the Manager and ER processes, followed by Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Agent.
If you decide to use monitoring software later, then stop all Oracle GoldenGate processes, including Manager. Then add JDK 1.7 in PATH and JAVA_HOME environment variables and then start all Oracle GoldenGate processes, along with Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Agent.
11g Users Not Migrated to Version 12.1.3 After Upgrade
After upgrading to Oracle GoldenGate Monitor 12c (12.1.3), Oracle GoldenGate Monitor 11g users cannot immediately log in to it. You must create users and assign privileges by using the Oracle WebLogic Administration Console. For more information, see "Managing Users from the WebLogic Administration Console" in Installing and Configuring Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Server.
T2P Cannot be Used with Compact Domains
The test-to-production (T2P) process is supported only for Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Server in an expanded domain. It is not supported for compact domains since these domains are not intended for production environments. Expanded domains are used for Oracle databases whereas compact domains are used for non-Oracle databases, for example MySQL and SQL Server.
Views Created in Oracle GoldenGate 11g Do Not Appear
After upgrading to Oracle GoldenGate Monitor 12c (12.1.3), as described in Upgrading to Oracle GoldenGate Monitor 12.1.3, views created in version 11g will not appear. Only users who have access to Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Agent will have access to views and solutions. Additionally, users granted the Administrator role cannot see 11g views created by other users.
To see views, add the 11g users in WebLogic Server as described in "Managing Users from the WebLogic Administration Console", and then log in to Oracle GoldenGate Monitor.
Oracle GoldenGate Monitor 12c (12.1.3) Does Not Support 32-Bit or TRU 64
This version of Oracle GoldenGate Monitor does not support any 32-bit or TRU 64 databases. For current platform support information for Oracle GoldenGate Monitor 12c (12.1.3), log in to Oracle support at http://support.oracle.com then click the Certifications tab.
Linux HugePages are Not Supported
Since Oracle GoldenGate Monitor does not use sharable memory, it cannot use Linux HugePages.
Issues With Solution Discovery in Monitor UI when Core Setup Changes
eWhen you change the core setup, the existing solution or partial solution remains visible on the UI. Due to this, the solution for the new setup is not discovered in the UI. When the core setup changes, a new solution should be displayed in the UI, not the solution or partial solution that appeared before the setup change. To work around this issue, do the following:
Stop the process first, then delete them.
Wait until all process, the database, and trial files are removed from the instance. part as well as from the solution part of the Monitor UI.
Stop Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Agent.
When UNKNOWN database is displayed in the UI, the solution is not discovered properly by the UI.
Add all the processes.
Start all the processes.
Start Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Agent.
