Certify Applications for Compatibility Between Autonomous AI Database Serverless and Dedicated

Considering that your application is already certified to use Autonomous AI Database Serverless, the following table helps you evaluate if your application can be certified to use Autonomous AI Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure too.

The table below lists the options and features that are either:
  • Currently available only in Autonomous AI Database Serverless, or
  • Has differences in functionality with Autonomous AI Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure deployments both in Public Cloud and Cloud@Customer.

Note:

There are also features only supported in Autonomous AI Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure deployment and not supported in Autonomous AI Database Serverless deployments. However, as the presumption is that you are evaluating to certify your application on both the deployments, starting with Autonomous AI Database Serverless deployments, we are not discussing them here.

  • DBMS_AQADM.MOVE_QUEUE_TABLE can only be used in ONLINE mode to move Advanced Queuing (AQ) tables from one tablespace to another or within the same tablespace.
  • DBMS_AQADM.MOVE_QUEUE_TABLE can not be used to move AQ tables even in ONLINE mode when table or schema names are case-sensitive and include special identifiers.

Time-zone file management

Use the DBMS_CLOUD_ADMIN.ENABLE_FEATURE and DBMS_CLOUD_ADMIN.DISABLE_FEATURE procedures to manage time-zone file updates. See Manage Time Zone File Version on Autonomous AI Database for more details.

You can choose to include or exclude a time-zone file update along with the automatic quarterly maintenance updates. See Update Autonomous Container Database Maintenance Preferences for detailed instructions.

You can also schedule an on-demand maintenance to update RU (Release Update) along with the time-zone file or just the time-zone file for an ACD. Refer to Schedule a Quarterly Maintenance Update for instructions.
