What's New in This Release

Table 1 lists changes described in this version of the documentation to support Release 7.7 of the software.

Defining a Database Alias and Testing a Connection	Amended topic. If database aliases are defined, the `TXNISOLATION` parameter must be added to the database alias entry in the db2cli.ini file, and must be set to have a value of 1.
About Unicode Conversion Tables	New topic. Unicode Conversion Services must be installed if Siebel eBusiness Applications are to communicate with a DB2 database that does not use Unicode character set.
Using the Data Distribution Facility and Workload Manager	Amended topic to clarify that Workload Manager must be installed and configured if the Siebel application stored procedures and user defined functions are to work.
Reducing Field Lengths of Unique Indexes to Avoid Truncation	Amended topic for clarification. Some indexes supplied by Siebel eBusiness Applications do not conform to the DB2 for z/OS v7 limitation of 255 characters.
About DB2 Statistics for Siebel eBusiness Applications	Amended topic. The RUNSTATS utility can be run on any table in Siebel 7.x.
About Cursor Configuration Parameter Values	Amended topic to describe how to set cursor configuration parameters for the Web Client and Siebel Server in release 7.7x.

About Using an External Security Adapter	The procedure for configuring LDAP deleted from guide. Users are referred to the Security Guide for Siebel eBusiness Applications for more information on configuring an external security adapter.
Applying DDL on the DB2 Host	Revised instructions for applying DDL on the DB2 host when you select the option Generate DDL Into Files during the standard installation process.
Migrating Customizations from Development to the Target Database	A change in the listing of files produced when migrating customizations from development to production.
Applying Schema Changes to the Target Database	New instructions added for applying the schema changes after performing a migration from development to production process.
"Calculating Space for Table Spaces and Indexes"	Calculating space for table spaces and indexes is not supported in this release. Section deleted from guide.
"Using the Create Alter Statements Function to Adjust Size"	The Create Alter Statements function is not supported in this release. Section deleted from guide.
About the Siebel Database Storage Configurator	The paragraph containing information about the dbconf.xls file that includes functions for calculating row count and available space based on row count was deleted. These functions are not supported in release 7.7.x.

About the Siebel Storage Control File Templates	New Siebel Schema layout: one table per table space, one table space per database. As a result, the following changes occurred: Database name prefixes changed from six characters to four characters. Siebel Systems ships three database storage control files. Database storage layout from prior releases are no longer shipped.
Applying DDL on the DB2 Host	New user-defined functions: `nextseq()` generates sequential values for EIM Export. `exrate()` currency aggregation functions. DB2 options are supported by Siebel database utilities for CREATE statements.
About a RLF Error Message	DB2 RLF message provided to end users.
About Tracing the Source of a Query	Session ID tracking string can be used to identify the current connection.
About Cursor Close	Default values MaxCursorSize and PrefetchSize changed from 48 to 128.
About Coordinated Universal Time and DB2 UDB for z/OS and OS/390	Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is supported on zSeries.
